Hundreds of citizens including military Veterans and supporters attended the funeral of World War ll Veteran James McCue in Massachusetts on Thursday. James McCue died last week at a health care center in the city of Methuen at age 97. Private First Class McCue enlisted in the Army when he was 20. He saw action in Europe, including being part of the massive Normandy beach invasion. According to local news outlet WBUR, the obituary said that he had outlived his wife and had no other living family members. Military supporters on social media spread the world quickly that James McCue had no relatives to mourn him. Hundreds of citizens in the local area answered the call and turned out to pay their respects.
